Absolutely Perfect! Simply Amazing! Just leaving with heartfelt sadness as our weekend has come to an end. Our stay was over the top, thanks to the professionalism, promptness and the culinary genius of the owner. No matter what you have experienced, this Bed and Breakfast, along with its owner, Richard Smoot, and staff, exemplify hospitality and culinary delight beyond anything we have ever experienced. We will surely return for future celebrations and relaxation retreats.

Stayed here to celebrate my wife's birthday. The Elmwood was a grand home. It was once the "main" house for the Elmwood Plantation. The Bed and Breakfast is within a 5 minute walk to the Washington Waterfront. The service was great and Richard (one of the innkeepers) makes the best biscuits I have ever eaten. The breakfast Richard prepares is very delicious and he puts his own spin on breakfast staples. If he makes the "Dutchbaby" pancake you are in for a special treat.

Richard and John are wonderful hosts and fabulous chefs! Our breakfast was absolutely delicious and they accommodated my husband's food allergy without any problems. The Inn was clean and the beds were comfy. I simply cannot say enough nice things about Elmwood. We would love to stay here again!
