Q: Hi, Miss Lemon. What's up?
Yo.
Q: You're looking especially lovely today. What's your breed?
I'm a full Maine Coon, honey, and I have the papers to prove it.
Q: What do you do around Elmwood 1820 to help maintain such a historic property?
Officially, I'm the Diva of the Front Desk, which mainly involves supervising the humans from my throne in the entryway. I'm literally the eyes on the street.
I also enjoy greeting guests at check-in and occasionally escorting them to their rooms. It's called Southern hospitality. Look it up.
After that, I generally lounge around until Cat Dad Richard starts making breakfast. I'm always on the prowl for biscuit crumbs. Quality control is important.
Q: Other than biscuit crumbs, what are your favorite foods?
I have a very specific and sophisticated palate. Fancy Feast and designer kibble only. I have standards.
Q: What's your favorite room at Elmwood 1820?
The bar. Next question, please.
Q: What are your office hours?
As outlined in my contract, they vary by day and time. I'm generally loose as a goose after check-ins. You'll see me when you see me. And I'm always available for cuddles, provided I'm in the mood. Don't make it weird.
Q: If you could tell curious first-timers one thing about Elmwood 1820, what would it be?
Girl, take it from meāthis place is pawsome.
I'm treated like a queen, surrounded by cool-looking stuff (none of which I'm allowed to touch), and constantly meeting interesting people from across the country and around the world. Not gonna lie. Living here is like 24/7 catnip.
But here's the thing: No matter where you come from, you'll feel right at home up in here. I don't even know where I'm from, but I'm lucky this place was in the cards for me. And I think you'll feel pretty lucky, too.
Q: Thank you, Miss Lemon. Anything else?
Nope. It's nappy time. I need to mentally prepare for the humans arriving today.
